Benefits & Significance of Gayatri Mantra

Who is BrahmRishi?

A BrahmRishi can change the course of the future of a native. Only he can give accurate predictions. This is so because such a Godhead personality has Vak Siddhi (Word Sidhi) and whatever he says becomes a Brahm-Vaakya, i.e., as good as a part of Vedas. Initial BrahmRishis are Manas-Putras of Brahma. They have not taken birth out of the womb of any woman. The first seven BrahmRishis who appeared in the present Sveta Varaha Kalpa are –

  1. Atri
  2. Vasistha
  3. Angira,
  4. Marichi
  5. Pulatsya
  6. Pulaha,
  7. and Kratu.

These were the initial seven BrahmRishis in the first Manavantar called Swayambhu.

What is Manvantars (Manu-Antar)?

There are 14 Manvantars (Manu-Antar) in an Aeon/Kalpa. Each Kalpa is an astronomical measure of Time called the Day of Brahma. One Kalpa measures 432 Crore human years. Each Manu has a life span of 306,720,000 human years of 360 days each. The present Manvantar is called Vaivaswat.

Who discovered the Gayatri Mantra?

BrahmRishis have all 14 Ratnas that appear out of Samudra Manthan at their disposal. A king named Vishwamitra saw KaamDhenu, one of the Ratnas, with BrahmRishi Vashishtha, and to obtain it Vishwamitra undertook great Tapas. It included Bhaahya Keval-Kumbhaka and Murchha Pranayam in which he didn’t breathe in any air for prolonged periods and thus became a BrahmRishi. BrahmRishi Vishwamitra gave Gayatri Mantra which has the potential to make a Yogi, the BrahmRishi/MahaRishi. There are 24 MahaRishis since Vishwamitra up to Yajavalkya who have availed the full knowledge contained in Vedas through the practice of the Gayatri Mantra.

What is Murcha Pranayam?

Murcha Pranayam leads a Yogi to ShivaLoka when he gives up all desires. This is aptly termed as Nirbeeja Samadhi in Patanjali’s YogaSutras and NaishKarma Siddhi in SrimadBhagavadGita, the highest and the Greatest State of Consciousness. All 14 Ratnas are available to this Dhyaan.
Brahm-Yogi in this State of Consciousness synonymous with Desirelessness and Timelessness.
Thus, Gayatri Vidya is the essence of Vedas and Gayatri Mantra, its mother. One Mantra alone is the most powerful one and a Yogi using Ashtanga Yoga practices can achieve virtually all the 14 Ratnas of Samudra Manthan.

Samudra Manthan

Samudra Manthan isn’t a Myth but the Yogic Way of Life. The modern human civilization with information technology has equipped every person to learn the intricacies of Vedic Ethos which earlier were the exclusive property of Vedic Rishis.
One has to take the first initial step in this direction and follow religiously the lifestyle of a Yogi even living as a householder and fulfilling the duties attached therewith. Purna Avatars Bhagawan (God) Sri Ram and Bhagawan Sri Krishna also lead their lives as householders only, fulfilling their respective duties as their Swa-Dharma.

Conclusion About the Significance of Gayatri Mantra

Gayatri becomes fruitful only when Aasan and Pranayam are practiced along with no attachments toward its Fruits. One transcends the mundane world easily when Gayatri Purashcharan is performed, as prescribed.
Blessed are those who follow the Yogic Way of Life, the best lifestyle known to Mankind since the beginning of the present Sweta Varah Kalpa.
