You all know the story of Lord Ram’s exile, but when Shri Ram went to the forest, he killed many demons till the end of the exile period and finally returned to Ayodhya after killing Ravana. But very few people know that Sita Mata also returned to Ayodhya and killed a demon named Aghasur. So let us know how Mother Sita killed Aghasur with the help of Laxman and Bajrangbali.

When Lord Ram returned to Ayodhya

When Lord Rama returned to Ayodhya with Mata Sita, brother Lakshmana, and Bajrangbali Hanuman, the entire Ayodhya was decorated like a bride, and a huge festival was celebrated in Ayodhya. Mata Sita returned to Ayodhya, she remembered that she had promised Mata Saryu i.e. Saryu river that when she would return to Ayodhya safely with her husband and brother-in-law, she would worship the Saryu river.

Why did Mother Sita swallow Laxman?

That’s why Mo ther Sita reached the banks of the Sarayu river with brother-in-law Lakshmana in the evening and asked Lakshmana to bring water in a pot for worship. As soon as Lakshman ji entered the Saryu River to fetch water and the pitcher starts filling with water, a fiercely scary demon named Aghasura comes out of the Sarayu River and proceeds to swallow Lakshman ji.

When Mother Sita sees that the Aghasura demon is about to swallow Lakshman ji, then Mother Sita herself comes forward and swallows Lakshman ji herself to save Lakshman ji.

Hanuman ji came to save Mata Sita

When Mata Sita came to the banks of the Sarayu river to worship and worship the Sarayu river, Bajrangbali also invisibly came to the banks of the Sarayu River to protect the mother.

When Bajrangbali saw that Mother Sita swallowed Lakshman ji herself to save him and as soon as she swallowed, her whole body melted and became water, then he filled Mother Sita’s water-like body in a pitcher and brought it in front of Shri Ram. And tell the whole story that happened there to Shri Ram.

Ram speaks to hanuman

When Maryada Purushottam Lord Ram listened to Hanuman ji, he started laughing and said to Bajrangbali O Maruti Nandan, I killed all the demons during the time of exile, but there is only one demon named Aghasur left, whom I could not kill because God I have received a boon from Shankar, so I cannot kill him.

There was a prophecy for the slaughter of Aghasura that when in Tretayuga the bodies of Mother Sita and Lakshmana would melt and turn into one element. Then this demon Aghasur will be killed by Rudravatari Lord Hanuman by using the same element as a weapon. Lord Rama said that this demon can be killed only by Maruti Nandan Hanuman, only by your hands.

How was Aghasur killed?

Lord Rama explained this to Hanuman ji and said that O Maruti Nandan, go to the banks of river Saryu at this time and let the bodies of Sita and Lakshman flow in the water of river Sarayu in the form of this element. As soon as you flow this element in the water of the river, at the same time the demon Aghasur will be killed, and mother Sita and Lakshmana will come back to their respective bodies.

After getting the permission of Lord Ram, Hanuman ji immediately reaches the banks of river Saryu and after inviting the bodies of Mother Sita and Lakshman ji in the form of elements filled in the pitcher with Gayatri Mantra, they flow in the water of river Sarayu. As soon as the water of the pitcher mixed with the water of river Saryu, a fierce flame started rising in the river, and with the same flame, the demon Aghasur was burnt to death.

As soon as the demon Aghasura dies, Mother Sarayu revives Mother Sita and Lakshmana and they return to their respective bodies.
