Shri Vidya is also known by the names Lalita, Rajarajeshwari, Mahatripurasundari, Bala, Panchdashi, Shodashi, etc. It is the same in basic elements but according to the feeling and state, there are differences in it. The Shodashi Vidya in 10 Mahavidyas is a form of Shri Vidya. It is also called Brahma Vidya or Brahmamathi.
From the word Shri one understands Mahalakshmi and from the word Vidya one understands superiority.

When we call someone respectfully, we definitely use the word Sri in front of his name, whether it is a God or a human being.
Therefore, by attaining self-knowledge through Shri Vidya Sadhana, one gets freedom from all the fears and pains of the world. In this Vidya, along with self-welfare, public welfare and the benefit of all classes are hidden.

Today we are living a life of humble slavery, by rising above it we can become superior and can share its benefits with others. Anyone can do this simple sadhana, there is no restriction of any kind in this sadhana. Both materialistic happiness and spiritual bliss are achieved with this Vidya and the person attains a high level of spiritual consciousness.

Types Of Sri Vidya

Sri Vidya Sadhana has three parts; Yantra, Mantra, and Sahasranama. Sri Yantra is the visible Goddess, mantra is the Shodashi Mantra of 16 Bija Aksharas and the Lalitha Sahasranama, which describes Tripura Sundari.
A Sadhaka has to learn and practice all these three parts to completely understand Sri Vidya and to achieve the blessings of Sri Tripura Sundari. After attaining Sri Vidya, the Sadhaka will be blessed with both material success in this world and moksha hereafter.

There are two forms of this sadhana, Subtle and Gross. The spiritual practice of the subtle i.e. soul element can also be done in the physical form through instruments, idols, etc. Manu, Chandra, Kuber, Lopamudra, Kamadeva, Agni, Surya, Indra, Kartikeya, and Durvasa Rishi also did this sadhana and provided it for the welfare of the entire world.
