- Bheem is the Second child among the Pandavas who married Draupadi later after the Demoness, Hidimba.
- Hidimba is the first wife of Bheem, it all started when the Pandavas were hiding in the forest during their exile where Hidimba fell in love with Bheem’s physical features as well as his inner being. They married in the forest according to the Demonly rituals and the couple was blessed with a half-human or half-demon child Who is known as Ghatotkacha.
1) Ghatotkacha
Ghatotkacha was born to Hidimba and Bheem. It is told that He directly grew from an infant to an adult when Bheem placed his drop of blood on his forehead.
The Son of the powerful and strongest was also not less, He had the ability to grow three times!
2) Hidimba Asks Ghatotkacha to Visit Hastinapura
Hidimba was angry because Bheem married Draupadi. So Hidimba orders Ghatotkacha to not give her respect, insult her and scream at her.
Later, When Ghatotkach goes to visit his dad, He follows the orders given by Hidimba. Giving no respect to his stepmom. He also insults her that she is a sinful woman, who has married 5 people. In a court where Rishis, Sages, King, and even the ministers were sitting. Hearing this Draupadi became angry.
Draupadi’s Curse to Ghatotkach…
Draupadi out of anger says ” O Ghatotkach, go! you will anyways not have a long life, You will have a short lifespan and you will die even before anyone fights with you.” These words came out of her mouth and proves true in his end.
During the Mahabharat war, Bheem calls Ghatotkacha three times by his name and he arrives. He saves Pandavas by killing many Akshouhini Sena’s from the Kaurav’s clan and he is the reason for one of their victory. To stop Gatotkach from killing the crown prince Duryodhan, Karna uses his Amogha Astra which was his boon from Lord Indra. This Amogha Astra can kill any person and causes his death. The Astra was used for Gatotkacha and that’s how he died.
